Greater Plano Kiwanis Club
Thank you for your club’s US$6,000 Model Club commitment to The Eliminate Project in the Texas-Oklahoma district. With Greater Plano’s commitment, every member of your club will help protect at least 416 mothers and their future babies from maternal and neonatal tetanus—keeping hundreds of families whole.
Tetanus causes infected newborns to suffer torturous pain and convulsions, preventing even the comfort of a mother’s touch. Your club commitment is helping to rid the world of this cruel, unnecessary disease.
Together, the Kiwanis International family is making history through The Eliminate Project. Since we joined UNICEF in the fight to eliminate MNT, infant mortality rates have dropped significantly—25 fewer babies die every day. And since 2011, more than 15 countries have eliminated MNT.
Because of Kiwanis clubs and its members, vaccines are reaching the women who need them—those in the world’s poorest and most remote regions—and saving lives. Your club’s support will also bring attention to Kiwanis International and our collective commitment to serve the children of the world.
Thank you for leading the charge to make history. Your support is crucial as we build momentum for our final march to victory. I encourage you to celebrate your club’s commitment on your club website, in club/district publications and in your social media outreach. Visit TheEliminateProject.org/newresources for instructions and examples.
Together, we can and will eliminate this disease.
Blessed beyond measure,
Randolph L. DeLay
